Catching Up

I can't believe it's taken me so long to add the Christmas update, but life is happening, what can I say.  Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of pictures over the holiday, but that doesn't take away from the fact that we spent great quality time with family and the kids had a blast at every turn.

We headed to Wenatchee the Friday before Christmas and celebrated that night with my mom, stepdad and Granny at Granny's house.  The kids loved eating the candy out of her fancy candy dishes and then of course talking her into making them 3, yes 3, ice cream cones!

Seeing snow for the first time this season!

The next day we took the kids sledding behind Aaron's parents house and then went to a movie with the kids.  It was AJ's first movie and he did great!  That evening we celebrated at Aaron's parents, followed by a drive around town looking at lights.  As the kids get older, they really get into this tradition!  I, unfortunately, wasn't feeling well that evening and celebrated with a fever :-(.  We had a great time though - the kids and adults were all spoiled!

The next morning we headed to my dad's house for some sledding and more celebrating!  Both kids loved sledding throughout the weekend - no fear I tell ya!  We had a packed house at my dad's - lots of kids running around and great conversation among adults.  We all met up again that evening for the annual White Elephant Gift Exchange at Brandon and Paula's house (brother and sister-in-law).  This is always an evening of fun - the gifts get funnier each year and it's always hilarious watching the reactions on people's faces as they open some pretty random gifts!

The next day we headed to Sequim with a packed car - the kids traveled great and we made it in time for a celebration with Aaron's dad's side of the family.  More good food, conversation and kids running around!

A little something for Santa
Christmas morning was fun as we watched the kids find their gifts from Santa - love the eagerness and genuine surprise!!  We made it to church that morning and for the first time we didn't have to leave the service, AJ was great the entire time!  After church we headed to another celebration with Aaron's mom's side of the family.  We were able to briefly catch up with everyone, open a few presents and then we were off to head back home.  It was great seeing everyone and we hated leaving so quickly, but Aaron had to work the next day and the passes weren't looking so good, so off we went!

Santa brought a doll and backpack!

So that's it - Christmas in a nutshell :-)  Up next:  DIY table project and a few extras!
