Wildhorse family fun night!

This is a very late post, but definitely needs mentioning!  This last February we took the kids for quick one-night getaway to Pendleton, Oregon to stay at the Wildhorse Resort and Casino.  Addison got a bathing suit for her birthday and really wanted to try it out and we were wanting to get away, so we headed south!  The resort had been remodeled recently, so the pool and room were really nice.  As soon as we got in we went straight to the pool.  It was a bit cold for my liking, so AJ and I hung out mostly in the hot tub.  Addison had a blast though - that kid is a fish!  Next we grabbed dinner to go at one of the resort restaurants and ate back in the room.  It was fun watching the kids explore the room!  The next morning we found ourselves back at the pool and then finished up with Addison learning how to ride her bike in the adjacent RV parking lot.

It was a quick, but really fun trip!

Chic Day, luch with our PK and a 10K!

Yay for Chic Day!  This is our third annual trip to Chic Day (check out last year's photos).  Last year AJ was napping, but this year he got to join the fun!  Addi was a bit shy this year - she didn't want to hold or touch much of anything, but she still had a good time!  AJ loved petting the bunnies!

It was Family and Friends Lunch Day at St. Jospeh's school last week - Aaron and I joined our little preschooler (PK) for some fritobanditos!!  I had never heard of those, but boy were they good!  If you haven't heard of them, they are plain fritos topped with chili, cheese, lettuce, tomato and salsa - yum!

I also participated in my second 10K!  I talked my friend Tracey into running it with me and although it kicked my butt and hers (we didn't train very much), I'm glad we did it.  But I was SO SORE for days afterwards and I will never committ to something that big again without training beforehand!

Tracey and I - we did it!!

Sunshine in San Diego

A few weeks ago I found myself in sunny San Diego for the 7th Annual Sparks/Brandeberry Girl's weekend!  You can read about last year's trip to Seattle by clicking here.

Aaron's mom and her best friend Gail, took Taryn (Gail's daughter) and I on a fabulous trip to San Diego!  We ate at great restaurants, visited Balboa Park, went to a dueling piano bar, walked miles around the city, layed out on the rooftop deck, swam, visited Coronado Island, saw a movie, ran along the river and through the city, visited friends of Gail's that treated us to Sushi and an amazing view of the city, and basically had an amazing time!  One of my favorites was the dueling piano bar and of course the yummy italian dinner in Little Italy.  And I can't forget the AMAZING french apple pie I had at Extraordinary Desserts - I still crave it at night!

It was a fun time catching up with Gail and Taryn and spending quality time with Gwen - she truly is a wonderful mother-in-law!  Not many daughter-in-laws can say they have such a great mother-in-law :-).  She not only loves our children unconditionally, but she treats me as if I was her own daughter.  We have a very special relationship!  Thanks for a fabulous trip Gwen!

Enjoy the pictures (they are not in order)...
